New construction-class excavator features more horsepower, larger hydraulic pumps and increased swing torque and lift capacity

The ZX300LC-6 is an improved version of its popular predecessor – the ZX290LC-5 – and features EPA Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV Isuzu engine technology that meets rigid emission standards. This bigger, more powerful machine gives operators the efficiency, reliability and durability needed when out on the jobsite.

The ZX300LC-6 is part of Hitachi’s new Dash-6 lineup. The Dash-6 models – which also include the ZX250LC-6, ZX350LC-6 and ZX380LC-6 – feature FT4 Isuzu engines that deliver the quiet, powerful performance Hitachi is known for with the added bonus of cleaner operations.
From the convenient handrails that provide easy engine access to the battery disconnect switch, the ZX300LC-6 features numerous time- and money-saving advantages. Grouped service points make quick work of the daily routine and operators are able to work more efficiently with 500- and 5,000-hour engine and hydraulic oil service intervals. Easy-to-check sight gauges and fluid reservoirs, quick-change remote-mounted filters and convenient fluid-sample ports minimize periodic maintenance downtime. Plus, whatever your grade system, Topcon, Trimble or Leica, Hitachi now offers a grade reference ready package that reduces installation time by half.
Hitachi’s field-proven technology for the ZX300LC-6 is simple and efficient, employing cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) is injected into the exhaust stream of the engine, runs through a catalyst, and turns the NOx in the exhaust into harmless water vapor and nitrogen gas. The EGR is specifically tuned to further reduce NOx (compared to EPA Interim Tier 4 [IT4]/EU Stage IIIB engines) to meet new emission standards with minimal use of DEF.
Additionally, an improved piston design allows particulate matter to be burned in cylinder, so there’s no need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
D-channel side frames house and protect the highly efficient coolers and FT4 engine. The boom, arm and mainframe are so tough, they’re warranted for three years or 10,000 hours, whichever comes first. With large idlers, rollers and strutted track links, the sealed and lubricated undercarriage is built for the long haul.
A 7.8-liter Isuzu engine gives operators a 32 percent increase in engine horsepower (compared to the ZX290LC-5). In addition, the ZX300LC-6’s larger, more durable hydraulic pumps – common to the ZX350LC-6 – provide greater lift capacity and increased swing torque to maximize productivity.
The larger pumps, a heavier operating weight of 64,375 lbs., and a redesigned boom and arm allow operators to maximize efficiency by using a larger bucket. The machine’s hydraulic boost system and enhanced boom recirculation generate aggressive boom and arm speed – returning the arm to dig faster, so you can move more dirt in a day. Finally, optional cab and right-side boom lights provide extra illumination to extend production.
Operators are set up for success inside the spacious cabs. Silicone-filled cab mounts isolate the operator from noise and vibration, and a refined LCD monitor makes it simple to tap into a wealth of performance and convenience functions, including programmable attachment modes.
Operators will also appreciate the wide entryway, fully adjustable high-back sculpted seat, ample storage and generous legroom. In addition, the machine features unobstructed all-around visibility thanks to a new hood design paired with a wide expanse of front, side, and overhead glass and mirrors. For even more comfort, an optional air-suspension heated seat is available.
